What are some of your most consistently High-Percentage techniques, per season? 

Would be interesting to see everyone's comparison.

 

(hopefully this isn't too vague, feel free to elaborate as you see fit.)

Pre-spawn: Almost never get to fish it so I haven't settled on anything, really

Spawn: Don't fish it much, but bladed jigs were successful this year

Post-spawn: Senko, wacky or t-rigged

Summer: Using any version of a "Jigworm" (hook with weighted head + worm; including but not limited to what everyone now calls a "shakyhead") to probe a deep weedline or drop off.

Fall: don't fish it much, but buzzbaits were my favorite last year.

Winter: don't get to fish.

Pre-spawn: Spinnerbaits

Spawn: Chatterbaits

Post-spawn: Just about anything, but senkos are probably my top producer here. 

The jig has a high percentage year round. Followed by a t-rig trick worm. 

In late summer and fall I gotten fond of the Alabama rig

This year has gone like this for me so far on the lake I fish.

Pre-Spawn: Chatterbait or Lipless Crankbait

Spawn:  Beaver style bait Pitched to their beds

Post-Spawn: Spinnerbait/Squarebill Crankbait/Buzzbait (almost every fish during this time I caught this year had a bluegill tail sticking out of their throat)

Summer: 1/2 oz or 3/8 oz Jig with a Rage Craw trailer pitched into shallow brush piles.  

Early spring/cold water: suspending jerkbait

Pre spawn: jigs, square bills

Spawn:  jigs, drop shot

Post spawn: jigs, big t rigged worms

summer/hot water: spooks early, drop shot during day and my most productive fishing is at night with a black/blue spinner bait with big Colorado blade 

 

 

 

 

Pre-Spawn: Blade Bait, Jerkbait and Jig/Pig

Spawn: Tube and popper

Post Spawn: Jig and Tube

Summer: Jig, or worm and Spook  For a faster presentation I like cranks and buzzers

Fall: Crankbait and White Jig

Winter, spring, summer, or fall...I use em all!

Of course their effectiveness depends on water & weather conditions.

I don't shelf a technique just because the seasons change.

If i get tired of chucking big baits all day i just go sturgoen fishing sit back in my chair and wait for a dinosaur.

This year so far:

Early spring: lipless crankbaits

pre-spawn: wacky rigged senkos, Texas rigged craws and creatures. 

Spawn: wacky rigged senkos and topwater

post spawn: topwater 

current/recently: topwater, Ned rig and wacky rigged senkos.

Now that summer is in full swing, I'll be tossing Texas-rigged 7-10" Culprit ribbon tail worms a lot. 

Dropshots, squarebills, chatterbaits.

Late winter, 38-45 degrees:  Suspending jerkbaits, blade baits, hair jigs, and the ned rig.

Early pre spawn, 45-50 degrees:  Suspending jerkbaits, jigs, and the ned rig.

Mid pre spawn, 50-55 degrees:  Suspending jerkbaits, jigs, chatterbaits, ned rig.  Most lures will work during the pre spawn period. 

Late pre spawn, 55-60 degrees: Chatterbaits, square bills, jigs, rattle traps, etc.

Spawn, 60-70 degrees:  Ned rig, jigs, lizards.

Post spawn, 70-75:  Ned rig, jigs, topwater.

Summer, 70+ degrees:  Topwater, jigs, t-rigs

Early/mid fall, 70-55 degrees:  Spinnerbaits, crank baits, chatterbaits, swim jigs, topwater.

Late fall, 55-45 degrees:  Suspending jerkbaits, ned rig.

 

 

Winter: small swim baits, spinnerbaits (slow rolled), balsa crank baits, jerk baits

early spring: lipless, square bills, chatterbaits

prespawn: chatterbaits, swim baits, poppers, swim jigs, frogs

spawn: Texas rigs, swim jigs, senkos

post spawn: poppers, spooks, wake baits, swim baits, jigs, square bills, frogs

summer: AM top waters, heavy cover jigs/Texas rigs, shakey heads, drop shot, frog

dog days: deep cranks, football jigs, frogs, heavy shallow cover jigs/punching

early fall: all day poppers/spooks, swim baits, jigs, Texas rigs, chatterbaits

late fall: same as pre spawn 

 

Pre-Spawn: Chatterbait or Crankbait

Spawn: weightless trick worm off of beds

Post-Spawn: I have some trouble here 

Summer: Drop-Shot or Deep Cranking

Fall: Anything to imitate a shad or baitfish

Winter: Jig or Underspin
