Favorite bladed jig colors for pre spawn?

Featured Replies

What are some of your preferred colors for bladed jigs, during pre spawn?

My bladed jig colors don't change too much throughout the year. I use a green pumpkin and a white and grey. Just happened to have a PIC of one on here. its hard to tell but the blade matches the skirt

Made by a guy on table rock lake. His site is called jigs4bass.com. I stumbled on it one day and really like his stuff. You can choose to have a bladed jig with or without a weed guard which is pretty cool for fishing in heavy wood

I don't choose my colors based on the time of year. I go more off the conditions and the water clarity.

Same colors as the rest of the year. Green pumpkin, watermelon, black, black and blue, white, and sometimes a mixture of green pumpkin, pumpkinseed, watermelon, with a few blue and orange strands to imitate bluegill. I usually use a swim bait as a trailer also

Choose a color that provides a good contrast to the water you fish in.   Keep things in mind like amount of light available, bottom composition and color of water.  After that a lot of it just becomes personal favorites for the body of water you are fishing based on experience.

When all else fails throw watermelon or green pumpkin with a couple strands of chartruese,  LOL just a personal favorite.
