The 2017 BassResource Road Trip to Pickwick Lake.

We stay at the cabins and gather there after fishing. We will have at least one dinner together as a group, "Burger Night".  So, my cabin will be open to everyone, every afternoon. Some years ghoti puts on a wine & cheese party, usually the first night. Depending on how many people sign up, we may have a local speaker to give everyone a heads up on what is working. Everything is casual.

BTW, we generally have several couples and the women are ALWAYS treated like ladies. This is NOT a "guys" weekend.

Remember to make those reservations!

Are there Hook ups at the Inn to recharge your batteries over night?

  • Super User

Yes and at the cabins.

  • Super User

Be sure to bring extension cords.  Depending where you park the rig you could need a hundred feet of cord.  Parking is across the street from some of the cabins.  If the new cabins are open, there is a central parking area.  There may be outlets in the parking area, but be sure to bring some long extensions just in case you do have to hook up to an outlet at the cabin.

Just checked.  The new cabins are available, but they are a hundred dollars, give or take, more per night than the older cabins.

One of these years I'm going to make one of these trips! Unfortunately its just not in the budget this year

Alright I just put in for the time off at work.  My buddy and I will be there 4/26 to 4/30 but we will be in the campground.  Still have to reserve our camp site.

Camp Site reserved!  I'll be at site #19 if anyone wants to come by.  I rather pay the 20 a night for a camp site than 70 for the motel.  Hope to see you guys there!!

Just made my campground reservations, so I'm coming. I may or may not bring my boat. It would require two trips to pickwick each way since I can't tow my boat behind my bumper-pull camper. Maybe I could take it over the week before. Whatever, I'll work out the details later.

If you want to bring it over the week before. Your more then welcome to back in the shed here at the house. I'm east of Selmer Tn on off Hwy 64 right before you get to Adamsville. 25 miles to the dam. I will pull my camper to the campground. Then run back and get my boat.

What site did you get? Thinking your staying in the state park campground? Some are usable, if your camper is not that long. Some are tough to get into. When trying to get my Daughters 36ft 5th wheel into one 2 years ago. It was not going in. The back hit before even starting up the grade to the site.

Pete

Thanks for the offer, Pete.  I may take you up on it. I'll let you know ahead of time if I'll do that. I have #33 in the state park campground. I don't think i'll have a problem because my camper is only about 27 feet long, a travel trailer. Kent (Roadwarrior here) offered to drive my boat over for me, but this might be simpler if I could go a week ahead of time. Then he could bring it back to Memphis, and I wouldn't have to make 2 trips to get it home or leave it at your place again.

Thanks,

Jerry

I'm so freaking tempted. I love this lake! Went down to the Alabama side with the dam and caught my PB smallie. Then on the northern end in Tenn had a giant largemouth pull out the bottom treble hooks from from my hot lips crankbait.

That's It?

Grampa will not make it.  He is having surgery to remove a couple of tumors from his skin.  Dinky will be there.

We will fish the  Santee Cooper area with Grampa for two or three days.  But it's close to his home. Dinky and I will arrive at Pickwick sometime on Wednesday.   We've got a ten hour drive from Santee to the Pickwick State Park.  We'll probably check in get our luggage into the cabin, then grab dinner and turn in.  We'll be easy to find.  Just look for a cabin with a Silver/Blue Ranger and a Red/Black Nitro.

I'm in 21 Friday and Saturday night so we are right next to each other. I will probably take Friday off and get there early.

Nice! Come say hello my buddy has a bad elbow so we will only be fishing for a few hours in the morning and maybe the evening too so we will be around during the day.
