New proto type swim bait

Featured Replies

So bass is not my only fish I love to fish. Recently I got into musky and there are some great baits. I was talking to a bait maker and he is talking about a creature swim bait.

For musky these baits are amazing and work, and should follow and should transfer over to bass.. Those who fish swim what are your thoughts on a new swim creature baits and if I could get my hands on a couple proto types would anyone be interested in buying them and trying them out?

Describe what the creature somewhat resembles..

How big is it ? I'm assuming good size if its targeting musky.

The "Creature Bait" category of soft plastics as it relates to Bass fishing, covers a fairly wide array of different shapes & sizes.

From simple baits with a small tail to large wild looking deals with multiple appendages and long, curly & even super flapping hind parts.

Adding a paddle tail to the mixed, especially on some of the busier baits, sounds interesting.

Might be good, might be too much of a good thing.

@A-Jaywas that first part for me ? I'm familiar with creature baits... ha-ha ! I just had a hard time picturing what a creature swim bait would look like..

Just a general observation

~ a creature swimbait  - I'm picturing a Lizard shaped offering with a paddle tail perhaps ?

Just one more appendage to be ripped off and throw off the balance.. hard to beat a baitfish swimbait... I'm curious too tho.

How would these differentiate from something like the Crazy Flapper? I often fish those as one would a creature-style swimbait.

Musky swimbaits have around longer than LMB swimbaits, that is what used before Huddleston came up with his wooden trout or Cole and his jointed lure.

Savage Gear suicide duck would be a creature type swimmer.

Storm makes a mudpuppy style muskie swimbait. I own one but can't honestly remember every throwing it.
