But it´s gotta be THAT one, Old Fashioned HEB Root Beer, cuz there´s another two at HEB, sugar free ( eeeeeeewwwww ! ) and Hillcountry ( which is also an HEB Brand ) but that one is for girls, ain´t root beery enuff. <_<

I grew up across the street from the original Dad's Root Beer plant in Chicago and even though it isn't produced there any more, it's still my favorite.  I've never heard of HEB, but then you've likely never heard of Dad's  :drinking-10:

Can't get it.  Made with cane sugar. I'll bet it's awesome.  For me, Souix City sarsaparilla. Dad's is right up there.  Got some yesterday. Grand kids love it.

Around my area it's Stewart's Root Beer that everyone drinks. Its based out of NJ but we don't hold that against them.

A and W on tap in a ice cold mug is pretty good,,,, lousy in a can or bottle though,,,, Stewart's is good also,,,,

Too bad that ya'll other than JDP aren't going to be able to taste the godly beverage ;) unless you travel to TX or, interestingly enough, cross the border since HEB doesn't have stores anywhere else other than TX and northern & central Mexico, it's a "texan" thing.

The funny thing is that I was a Coke guy. :dontknow:

We have a small chain of restaurants in Kansas called Nu-Way they date way back  into the 1930's.  Nu-Way is famous for loose meat sandwiches and home made root beer.    The root beer has a great strong flavor unlike any other I have tried.

You got one of them close by?  Maybe you could pick up a half gallon and ship it to me. :D  Been a long time since I've had a proper Root Beer!

I would be happy to, send me a PM and we will work out the details.

I had some when I was in Ohio in July.  Good stuff.
