Boat Cover Problems

Featured Replies

I just bought a skeeter and I'm having trouble covering it. I live on a lake and the boat will say in the water for 3.5 seasons. As of right now, I can't find a cover that has holes for dock lines. I need a cover that will also not blow off when the wind blows. Does anybody know of a cover that has holes for boat lines?

Aurora Canvas makes the best custom covers in the biz.

Most upholstery shops can modify a cover for your needs. I would have them add velcro flaps that you can run your lines through. A lot of places out there can make you a custom cover as well if you don't have one that will work already.

If your dock has a slip use 1/4" nylon rope and tie across the slip width with enough slack to drive the boat over the rope in the water. Attach the ropes to cleats located where you want the cover tie downs. Your Skeeter cover should have a rope that draws the cover tight around the boat. Put the cover on with any tenting poles to drain off rain water and attached the ropes that are now under the hull to your eyelet cover tie downs...done. When you take off the cover attached the tie down ropes to the dock cleats and leave them in the water.

You will need a strong bow tie down rope and cleat and 2 stern tie down ropes tied to the stern trailer tie down lugs and cleats, 4 bumpers, 2 at the Stren and 2 mid ship.

Best option.  Not the cheapest, but it'll be perfect.

Do you have a factory Skeeter boat cover? It's been awhile since I owned a Skeeter and as I recall the factory cover had reinforced cleat cover with rope access openings to hang dock bumpers on.
