Hello from Richmond, VA

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'm from Pittsburgh originally and used to fish for trout and salmon from the shore in Lake Erie and the surrounding rivers.  I then stopped fishing when I moved to Virginia back in 2001.  I recently got into bass fishing in the last year in large part because of kayak fishing.  I tried out fishing on a Jackson Cuda 12 and fell in love with it.  I then picked up my own Jackson Coosa HD kayak.  I frequent Amelia Lake, Diascund Reservoir, Lake Chesdin, and of course the James River (Watkins Landing, Robious Landing park).  My wife has a Wilderness Systems 115 but is more keen on paddling than fishing.  I'm still figuring bass fishing out but seem to have good luck on various swim baits, tubes, senkos, and grubs.  Grubs and tubes are my current favorites.  I am joining this site to learn, share, and maybe even meet up with someone on the water someday.  Look forward to perusing the board and meeting some folks.

Glad to have you with us.

Be sure to keep us posted on your exploits.

Also, have you fished the eddy to the left of Bosher's Dam? You will have to put in at Flatwater by the Huguenot bridge and paddle up river to the dam.

Great smallmouth fishing in that area.

Be safe and we look forward to your queries and input.

I have not.  In fact, this is the first I've heard of it.  I plan to go out this Saturday so I'll have to give that a try.  Thanks Sam!

Welcome from another Richmond newbie!
