19 lb NorCal bass

Ryan Renolds caught and released a 19 lb Largemouth for a small 350 acre Northern Cal lake on Oct 28 using GYCB black blue Hula grub. Considering this a fall period bass, not pre spawn the bass could be 20 lbs+ in 3 to 4 months during the spawn. The is probably the heaviest ever weighed from NorCal! Photos on line Lake Chabot record bass.

I saw that video last night - impressive to say the least.

I really like it when an angler gets as much enjoyment & satisfaction in a successful release as he does with the record breaking catch itself.

Congrats to Mr. Renolds.

Good golly Miss Molly that is a biggin'. I'd give my left big toe just to catch a bass half that weight.

Have those same grubs in my box.I wish there were bass around me that big. my biggest bass came off something much different. my biggest isn't even half of this ones weight.

I think sometimes about chasing a different species in ohio. I just can't get away from chasing the bass.

What's the length ?

Bass are extremely fun to catch, but so is fishing for other gamefish. The current Ohio record Muskie is well over 50 pounds, with lots of reports of people catching quality sized Muskie. There's also lots of quality sized Striped Bass in Ohio(another hard fighting gamefish).

I love the fact that it was caught on a grub and not a Roman Made; there's still some hope left for me haha.

Dang nice fish.

Pretty awesome but but but what about the leader?

The way I read it he was strait 65LB Braid I cant believe a 19-pound monster would have ever touched it. :roflmao1:

Just giving you guys that swear about leaders s**t. Not personal just teasing.

My, my . . . . a 12 lb upgrade on his personal best.  That's heart attack city right there!  Very nice fish!

I fished this place a couple of times. I was aware that there are decent bass in there, but the fact that such a monster bites on 65 # braid in a super pressured lake - amazing!
