My new 7'4" H Lew's Mach Speed Stick, it says it's for pitching. Would it double out as a frogging rod?

I use a 7' MH Veritas as my frog rod.I'd say 7'4" H would do the trick.

As long as it loads well enough during the cast with a frog, it should have the backbone to get a fish out of cover. 

It should work fine.  I don't get caught up in the labels that rod manufacturers put on rods.  I have an orochi xx "perfect pitch" and it's my full time frog rod.

It should work great.  I actually can't stand most "frog" rods I've tried.  They may be great at slinging them, but not always so great at setting the hook and extracting them from the slop.  For a long time, I just used my flipping stick.  I now use a rod with similar specs as the Lew's rod.  I think it's a 7-3 HF.

Although I haven't used that rod, I would think it'd be just fine for frogging or pitching. I use a St. Croix Mojo 7'1" H/F for froggin, and it doubles as my secondary flip/pitch/punch rod.

Same here. I find them to be either too pool que stiff and suck for skipping and flinging frogs with precision under docks, over hanging trees, etc....Plus those super stout frog rods actually hurt hook up %, by yanking the frog away from the fish too fast.

With a 7' MH rod that has a little tip and a lot of back bone, I can whip a frog a mile, winch 5 + 6lb fish out of mats, walk a frog like no bodies business, and rarely miss a solid blow up where the bass actually has the frog in it's mouth.............part of that is me being dumb and slow. Sometimes not having cat like reflex's is an advantage LMAO.
