Huntsville, AL area

Featured Replies

I just moved here and know NOTHING about the area.

Any info would be appreciated. I have a boat and all the bells and whistles. I will take pretty much anyone out that knows the area or will cover the expenses of anyone that has a boat.

I'm not looking to spot jack or steal any secrets, but other than watching episodes FLW episodes and Elite series stuff there isn't a lot of great info out there.

You are really close now to guntersville especially, but also wheeler, and pickwick. As,well as neely henry and weiss for coosa spots. If you venture to weiss just be careful though. Its a spread out but shallow lake with an average depth of around 5ft.

I'm way upstream of you but all the lakes mentioned in the above post are pretty awesome! (Although I've never been to Neely Henry). Try to fish when they are generating if possible. This time of year fish can be surprisingly shallow, the baitfish like to soak up the sun. The major factor working against you is that every Tom, Dick, and Harry has a full size truck and a bass boat. I would guess that the bass in the stretch of the Tennessee river in north Alabama are close to the smartest bass on earth. They have seen some things man................

I would like to fish with you at Pickwick, below the Wilson Dam.  The controlling variable is ALWAYS water release, but TVA provides a three day outlook so we can plan a few days ahead of time.  This is PrimeTime on the Tennessee River for smallmouth. Both of the fish in my avatar were caught in January.
