Trolling motor tray

Featured Replies

Hi, im new to this, so was wondering if anyone has installed a tray in older skeeter bass boat. I have a 89'. Obviously concerned with cutting into deck. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Sometimes you just have to do it! Good job.

can you notice a difference in how you feel after trolling with a tray vs without?

Sometimes it is hard cutting a big hole in your boat, glad it worked out for you.

Ethan, haven't got to try it yet ,still making some upgrades. Definitely looking forward to it, couldn't imagine using the ultrex pedal at it's normal height all day.

Ethan, recessed trolling motor pedals are outstanding to use. Being able to stand flatter, not on one leg balancing while the other is on the pedal is a night and day difference.

Contact the tray mfr and ask if thier tray works in your boat with the TM foot control you are using. Wiring, deck supports or whatever needs to be mapped out so you don't cut something that shouldn't cut and fit where it should be located.

They all claim they work in your boat, unfortunately unless you can see what's under your deck  you won't know. I have to say I talk to the owner Jim of comfort troll and he was more than happy to help out. Fortunately the install was a success.

I did this on my last boat and loved it.

removed front control panel and felt around. Then used a mirror to look around.

the hardest part is the first cut......then it eases a little ?

My my current boat has built in tray.
