Change Display Name

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have been away from the forums for a while with a new baby and have come across an issue. I have done an exhaustive search through this forum but cannot find a way to change my profile Display Name (the one everyone sees). There is no option under the "Edit Profile" link from my main page. I fear there is an easy way and I am just missing it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hm... It was pretty easy before the major changes.

I just checked and don't see the option, either.

One of the mods will chime in and solve it all soon enough.

If you're asking to change Kyleunderwood to something else then I've never been able to do that on any forum without an admin. changing it, and even then some forums frown upon it.

It was possible here. I did it to my name w/o a mod.

There was an option for like 3 name changes over a

certain period of time.

Ah, I didn't know that. Thanks for the clarification.

Ok I actually found it, and I was right in believing it would be the last place I looked.

When you click the drop down menu from your name in the top left, select "account settings." From there you scroll down to the tab on the left that says "Display Name" and click it. @Darren. good job, you were close. You are permitted 5 name changes every 30 days.

I hope this helps others if they have the same issue.

Thanks group for the help.

Glad you found it.  A few updates ago that changed, probably since there is a renaming restriction, and the display name can be used to log in as well as email.

Every time you find something, it is always the last place you look.  It may also be the first place.  I stop looking when I find the thing I'm looking for.  Doesn't everyone?

Oh I hope everyone stops looking for something after they find it. But I was definitely trying to be humorous with that. It is a phrase I say all the time when someone is looking for something; "I know where it is...it is in the last place you look." Then I proceed to get a dirty look from said person. I got it from my dad whom would say it all the time also.

No point in continuing to look after you've found it.
