Featured Replies

How does the Zillion SV TWS compare to the Alphas SV 105 as far as physical doze s well as palmability?

Thanks,

Thanks!!  That's what i thought, but have never seen them together.   I love the size of the Alphas, so maybe I'll go with an SV 103 instead of the Zillion.

SV103 is based off the og zillion. It's a good bit bigger than the Alphas SV105. The zillion tws sv would be in between. The SV103 is a great reel though. Both 103 and 105 reels are now being discontinued so grab one soon if you're in the market. TW has already dropped the prices on them.

I have both of those reels and will try to remember to grab some pics for you tonight.  I have smaller hands and prefer the SV105, but the Zillion is perfectly comfortable.  My only complaint with it is that my thumb tends to "hang" on the spool release causing a second of grinding gears when I go to crank, but I suspect I can train myself out of this.

The SV103 isn't necessarily bigger than the Zillion SV TW. It's a better palming reel in my hands. The Zillion SV TW form factor reminds of the Curado 200E series.

As much as I like the Alphas series if I had to choose between both I would pick the Zillion, it's a finer reel.

I think the Zillion could be a viable option for me.  That said, now I'm also thinking about a Metanium MGL.  Can anyone tell me how that compares in size to the Alphas or the 50 size Shimanos?
