Oddly enough I feel the same way about lipless cranks. Worthless for me. Lol. And spinnerbaits are one of my go to baits. Always have one tied on. Lol

I put five buzzbaits on my A-Rig that I fish with a 6' M spinning rod and 8# mono....

Can't stand using fluorocarbon fishing line.

That's not blasphemy, that just shows what an intelligent, experienced, dedicated and outstanding fisherman you must be!   

I've never taken a picture of a fish I've caught.  I have ZERO confidence in jigs.

I Love Flouro line...Use it on all but 2 setup's

Can't stand mono..see no need for it

Don't tie a leader on anything...see no need for it. 

Haven't used a spinning rod in 5 years (except for salt water)

 

And no, none of that is a misprint

Here's a big blasphemy - I've almost forgotten how to tie the palomar knot.  And, I don't think I tied it at all last year because I've been using the Trilene knot almost exclusively.  

 

 Another blasphemy - I have a dozen or so Japanese crankbaits and none of them have hit the water!  

 

 And another - I hate fluorocarbon and don't like braid either.  I'm a mono/ copolymer fisherman.    

 

 And... although I use crankbaits, I think they are mostly a gimmick/macho man lure.  

 

 Finally, I don't like big pitching jigs because they never work where I fish.

I can HONESTLY say I haven't thrown a jig in the past year. I have them but I never need to throw them. It's boring......

I often use saltwater lures for bass and freshwater lures for saltwater fish.For example,I have caught bass on saltwater jigs and caught inshore snook on spinnerbaits.

I have a leftover bag of Gulp Mullet. Have you ever caught a bass on one?

When I started fishing, I used 3 overhand knots to tie on lures.  I didn't catch many fish over 12 inches, but the ones I did broke off a lot.  

 

I'm left handed, but I use right handed bait casters and for spinning reels I put the handle on the right side.  

 

I cut the tail down on a soft plastic lizard and use them as jig trailers.

 

I'm afraid to boat flip fish.  Haven't broken a rod yet!

 

I don't know how to use a fish finder.

 

I didn't know what a drag was when I started fishing, but I found out after losing a 5 pound catfish.   

 

I bought my first baitcaster reel over 15 years ago.  I threw it out b/c I didn't know how to set it up and cast it.  

 

 

I hate GY senkos. I only used 2 out of a pack before switching. Too expensive and too fragile for my liking. I use Yum Dingers. Also never caught a bass on a spinner bait. For the trifecta, I caught most of my frog fish in the middle of the day on a spinning rod set up with braid. 

When I'm broke/cheap I crimp split shot weights onto my drop shot leader....

I use braided with a flouro leader regardless the lure

No, what's boring is feeling in something constantly without putting in any of your own action.

So here's what I'd say mine is....

 

I hate jigs. I really have given them a good shake. I probably have 10-15 great Siebert jigs that just hang on a peghook on my bait board. 

 

I don't use, and won't use Flouro anymore other than the occasional leader. Which I'm quickly eliminating leaders from any of my fishing...which segways into...

 

I use braid for EVERYthing. It's strong, casts well, has almost no memory. I used to use mono, and for a brief time flouro, but I lost some GREAT fish that wouldn't have been lost if I used braid. So I made the switch and the confidence is reassuring. 

 

I'm right handed - exclusively use left hand reels, I guess a carryover from my left hand spinning reels

 

I love spybaits, and I love the quality of Duo Realis spybaits, but I realistically almost never catch anything with them

 

Out of ALLLLLL the lures in my arsenal and tackle bags, I really only do consistently well with about 7 of them. I've considered just getting a small tackle bag and just only carrying the ones I know I'll catch with, but I haven't yet brought myself to that level of I-don't-need-ism.

That's just smart. I'm not even smart enough to give drop shot a good chance.

 

A few times last season I used a split shot rig, which is just a poor man's Carolina rig or a "finesse C rig." It's a killer rig for getting bites when NOTHING will get a bite. After it worked, I switched to a regular (but lightweight) C-rig though because the fish don't feel the weight of it.

Haven't used Gulp Swimming Mullet yet, but it looks like it will make a good trailer for a spinnerbait or jig.

C Rigs and Split Shot rigs are something I don't play around with enough despite how well they work around here. I think I just forget about them because I've never had a tough enough day recently that couldn't be fixed with a drop shot or a weedless senko. 

 

Some of the boaters that I fish with have won tournaments and caught state record fish exclusively on Carolina rigs and swear by dragging them around humps for ENORMOUS smallmouth.

I don't know if it's blasphemous, But I can never bring myself to leave any tackle behind in the truck. Even if I'm fishing a swamp out of a kayak that's 100% covered in pads and vegetation and the only thing ill be doing is froggin and punchin...I still have to have my three tackle boxes of jerk baits and crank baits in the boat. I don't know why...It's my tackle and i feel warm and fuzzy when it's with me. makes me feel like gollum sometimes. "My precious!"

I guess mine isnt too blasphemous but I just bought an Avid X medium fast for crankin'. I just cant do the moderate action rods...

I was using my Shimano Caenan reel yesterday, and had the thought "I really wish I had brought my black max instead"
