I've fished off a SUP.  The main issue was balance for casting, and where to put the paddle.  This solves both problems.  It does not solve the issue of my dog constantly jumping off, and scaring the fish. :D

BTW, the SUP was great for getting up creeks, and a ton of fun with a big brown trout or northern pike on.  The things are really overtaking kayaks in numbers in the creeks, streams, and backwaters around me.  I still prefer a kayak for these creeks, but this just looked interesting.

Regular fishing SUP yes.  I think they may end up being perfect for rivers and places that are tougher to get to.  Large lakes I cant see it being an option for me.

I usually wear a speedo on my SUP.

I would have to expect Roger,  that this is a serious violation.

One that the Fishing Fashion Police would have no choice but to cite the offender with a 'stiff' fine.

Fear is temporary, regret lasts forever.

Yea - I was referring to the vehicle ignition type you might be needing to carry.

And so this bit most likely ran it's course a few posts ago . . . . . .

Sorry

You guys are gross.

No, my balance, or lack thereof, would preclude me from using this to fish. I have a hard time putting on socks while standing.

If you can stand on a dock, you can stand on a SUP.

i fished on the Chattahoochee from my wife's paddleboard this summer.  i took a ratchet strap and strapped my yeti roadie down as a seat/cooler/tacklebox and took off by myself.  i really did it to see if it would work and also because where i was taking out i was going to have to walk a good ways so i wanted her super light unit vs my ride 135.

well it worked, but frankly not that well.  balance was an issue and tracking was as well.  i did a lot of 360's that day!!

Too much work involved...but I would support RoLo wholeheartedly in his near naked expeditions. He may even change his species of choice from bass to carp. From what I understand they love to dine on nuts and berries.

No thanks.  I don't want to go swimming when I'm trying to fish and I don't like losing my stuff.  Not to mention $2500 for something that's not exactly light weight and has a high center of gravity.

There's a place on the bay near where I live and my wife and nephews rented some SUPs last year and had a blast, so SUPs are no doubt fun; however, they wore swim suits and were prepared to get wet.

Not interested in seeing the outfit that anyone on this forum is wearing while they are on one of these things either.  Although I wished I had my camera last August on Hemlock Lake when 2 gals in string bikinis were paddling these things around.  One even had a chihuahua on the front that was like a hood ornament.  It usually bugs me when I'm casting toward shore and someone cuts in front of me,but not this time :)

I only see Sasquatch when I fish Hemlock.... :D
