New trolling motor- any deals out there?

Featured Replies

Well my T-motor bit the dust yesterday.  This one has been rebuilt twice already so I'm not going to get it fixed again, as it never ran the same after being rebuilt.  Looking at a minn kota 70lb hand control.  Best I can find anywhere is $682 at iMarineUSA.com (with free freight)... but never heard of them.  Is this a reputable outfit?

I prefer hand control for a variety of reasons.  (replacing a 65lb minn kota which replaced a 65 motorguide of yesteryear)

Or anyone have a suggestion for another retailer?

THanks!

Is this good for you ?

https://www.amazon.com/MinnKota-Pontoon-Control-Trolling-Thrust/dp/B005O31V74/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1489864718&sr=8-6&keywords=minn+kota+70+hand+control

**edit** never mind I just noticed that's a Pontoon model  . . . .

A Jay and the OP. I would hesitate to purchase a TM off Amazon. I found "a good deal" on my terrova and it took 4 months for the vendor to make my order right. The terrova was advertised as a 101 pound thrust with ipilot link. I received a 112 without  the link feature. What had happened is they sold out of the 101 links. 4 months later, after numerous calls to amazon and the vendor, they sent me the link module for the 112 which I installed myself.

You guys are great!  That's another $50 (savings) I can spend on a reel!  :)  I'll wait until Monday to order just in case- and they are closed until then, anyway.

Thanks!!

You should call & speak to a sales rep there.  They can sweeten the deal sometimes. Good luck.

Found this thread on a search. Looking for a new front trolling motor for our boat and found a very good deal on universalmania's site. Have others here had god experience purchasing through them?  Has anyone been able to determine if Motorguide or Minn Kota honor warranty on purchases through them?  I can't find anywhere that Motorguide publishes authorized online retailers.

Thanks

There are a ton of guys on another forum who use them and love them and they're a sponsor on that forum, so I'd assume you're good. Slonezp should chime in and vouch for them I'm guessing.

I've bought 5 graphs and 2 trolling motors from them. No issues with the sale or with warranty, or with manufacturer rebates
