Been waiting a few weeks, finally got here yesterday. It's a fairly plan, no frills look with a flat black finish and red accents. A very long handle with foam handles. Not the lightest reel at 8.2oz on my kitchen scale. 9.3 retrieve ratio and 37ipt it should be blazing fast. Hoping to get to test it Thursday.

Is this your 1st Kastking reel?

No, I've been using an Assassin for a few months now and have had good luck with it so far. Hard not to try a super fast reel for only $70.

Considering I fish with several old green Curados, no. But compared to a lot of newer reels, it is towards the heavier side.

might help the balance on a big heavy flipping stick though.

It's going on a 7' 6" Rage, so that's pretty muchwhat I'm hoping for.

It's fast, really fast, a little too fast for the 1 fish I had try to eat my frog at the pond today. Hopefully get to fish it for real tomorrow.

Got a good test run today. Reel cast a mile, just like the Assassin. No problem with drag on hooksets and no problems winching fish in. Rained on us all day so I didn't get video like I wanted but probably boated a couple dozen nice largemouth and smallmouth on it.

I agree, this reel seems to cast forever. It does take a bit to really understand how fast you are actually moving the bait, but I love mine. It feels solid and I like the longer handle.
