How To Do A Backhand Cast With A Baitcaster - New Video

Featured Replies

Is it possible to learn to skip with a cast like that?

Im working on skipping senkos under low laying branches and such.  At the same time, Im learning how to quickly fix most birds nests :)  For me, I really have to stay on that line with my thumb.  Or, switch to a spinning rod.

Wouldn't casting left handed work better?  Or at least as good?  Personally I have less trouble casting left handed than using a backhand cast.  Probably because I've never practiced much with the backhand cast.  :sad78:

Pretty slick video, thanks.  My driveway is a bit above my yard, so that is my "deck" when I practice cast...which I do most nights if the weather is decent.

The hint about timing the release was critical - that made all the difference in the world.
