Running lights

Throw cushion

Horn or whistle

Pfds for everyone on board

Paddle

20 rods and reels and a couple of thousand baits. ;D

Do you have any tackle at all at this point?  Are you new to bass fishing?   The appropriate answers to your questions require some more information - - like what kind of lakes do you fish, what your budget is, etc......

You Rock!

any reccomendations for things I NEED to have in the boat? (besides tackle)

really appreciate it

Rub it in!!!   ;)

Start with the safety equipment and move on from there.  Most state websites have the required safety devices which are mandatory for every boat!

Congrats on the new boat.  I would go with shimano reel and rod combos One Med-Heavy 7'6" long bait caster, one 7' Med-heavy,7'med  all in bait caster.  7' med, 6'6" med, and 6'6" light-med in spinning.  Matched with either a curado or a citica. ;)

Here's a few things that I think are required to have in a boat that aren't directly fishing related:

Sunscreen

Bug spray

Handi wipes (I eat lunch most times out)

A small plastic bag for garbage

Spare fuses

A whistle

& maybe a couple of emergency rain ponchos

I've been wanting to buy a spare prop and carry an adjustable wrench in case I hit rocks and need to change over while on the water but I haven't gotten around to that yet.

any reccomendations for things I NEED to have in the boat? (besides tackle)

First Aid Kit

Sunblock

A jacket

An emergency change of clothes (I read more and more about hypothermia after people fall in the water)

A small radio to listen to local weather reports.  I know on the delta weather can sneak up on you.

Replacement batteries for whatever devices you are using (like flashlights, radio, etc).

A small tool kit and ratchet set

Spare allergy medicine if you have allergies.

A whistle.

Flares.

You all have missed #1 necessity that I can think of.

T.P.

Oh and plenty of plugs for the drain hole

I can't tell by the sound of your voice but are you excited about the new boat!!

Congrads on the new ride, just remember there is always something when you are on the water that you are missing. Keep a pen and a note pad or you will never remember!  Good luck
