Hello! I am new to bass fishing. I used to fish for perch and striped bass in the Chesapeake Bay until I moved to college then off to my first house. I took a long break from fishing besides the here and there fishing trips with the buds. I guess i just didn't think i had time. recently we changed our offshore fishing trip into a bass fishing trip on lake Champlain. it was amazing and now i'm hooked. I've always wanted to bass fish and i guess i just didn't know they were fish-able in MD, esp since im not in western MD.

I tried to get a good all around setup for fishing by foot (A kayak is in my 5 year plan, somewhere... whenever I can convince myself to spend money on a roof rack, a kayak and all needed accessories. Hopefully sooner than later but for now we fish by foot). I got A Pflueger President XT spinning 3500 spun with 20lb power pro braid, on a 6'6" Abu Garcia Vengeance MH rod.

So I found a few places to fish but I am hoping people on this forum might be able to help me find more within harford county, md. I mainly fish those river smallmouth in the susquehanna. Maybe some tips for fishing on foot at the Susquehanna near conowingo dam?. fishing the current breaks of the bank when its clear (swimbaits, crankbaits) and the mouth of tributaries when its muddy (texas rig senkos) but its hit or miss at the susquehanna at least for me. I also fish a small reservoir and have gotten one 2lb largemouth out of it (after probably 5 hour long outings.) but its slow there and very thick weeds.

I have been Skunked for the past few days trying everything in my tackle box but I will keep trying. Maybe Bassresource will help improve my fishing experience. I'm loving it so far! esp when i'm catching fish.

Welcome, enjoy it here. We're fish somewhat the same area. Been an off type season for me. Water staying high. Heavy stain. Fish are there. Learned to change my tactics. Hang in there I'm hoping for a good October for us.
