Steez EX 3012H - $467

Featured Replies

Just added a last minute purchase to TW with the Labor Day discount.  Picked up a Steez EX 3012H spinning reel for $467 from $799.  Has anyone used this reel before and how does it compare to a Shimano Stella or even the Exist.  I have a Luvias 3012 Shallow Spool that I love!  For the price I figured it would be nice but any input/comparison is helpful.  Thanks and best wishes on the water!

No experience myself with the reel but among the guys I know that fish Stella and Steez spinning reels the consensus seems to be that the Stella is the superior reel and this is even from die hard Daiwa reel guys. I am sure your Steez will be a great reel nonetheless.

The Steez is a great spinning reel, but does not compare to the Stella.

I have handled but never used a Stella and they are smooth!  I just figured for the price I got this Steez, it would be worth a try.  How does it compare to the Exist?

I'm a Daiwa guy.

I would choose stella every time

Well if it's nice, then I will keep it...if not, I can simply return it.  Thanks for the input guys.  Currently I have a Stradic Ci4+ 2500, Luvias 3012H, RG 2500, and SS Tournaments 1300 and 700.  I just figured for the price, it would be nice.  Or I can exchange it for a Certate and be refunded a few bucks back too.  I have to get the reel in hand to see.  Thanks for the input and if anyone else has any information, that would be great too.  Best wishes on the water!

Unfortunately, it seems that you pay more for the name on that reel. I'm all about quality gear, but I have a MB luvito 256 which is the MB version of the 2012 Luvias and I also have the Jdm 15 Luvias. The 15 Luvias is just as smooth as my friends Steez.

Thank you rippin-lips.  I am going to give it a shot and if its similar to my 15 Luvias 3012H that I own and got for $199 shipped, then I may just have to return it.  If it is nicer, then maybe I will keep it.  I just thought for the price it would be worth a shot...or maybe I could exchange it for a Certate as mentioned earlier.

I actually sent the reel back because my Luvias 3012H felt so close and I paid $199.  Too bad I can't find another Luvias at that price.

I have a 15 jdm 2510pe-h that’s like new I’d sell for $220 shipped. Bought new about 6 months ago and it was used maybe 10x. I took it in on a trade from my friend.

I own both the '14 Stella and this '12 Steez. The Stella is AMAZING. I'm telling you, if you love nice gear, and you're the type that appreciates high end stuff, you owe it to yourself to buy one. I have not fished the Steez yet but its beautiful too.
