G. Loomis Conquest?

Featured Replies

Been considering to add another high end rod combo to my collection. Whichever I choose I know I will throw an aldebaran on it for use in pitching applications. For a while I had been looking at the NRX but recently noticed that G. Loomis and Shimano have come together to make the Conquest which is supposedly 10% lighter than the NRX. This rod is price pointed at almost $700 after tax. I'm wondering if the Conquest is that much better or if we are paying the price for two large fishing manufactures to collaborate on a rod. Any thoughts? Opinions?

Wait for some reviews then if you are still tempted look for a rep sample somewhere for a few hundred less.

The last time there was a rod priced above the NRX it did not sell well at all. That was the upper tier rod made my that one company we all know of.

I personally am not too interested in the new Conquest rods though I have several NRX/GLX.

Shimano purchased G. Loomis over 5 years ago!

When some says 10% lighter ask to see a comparison. Only you know your expendable income, if $700 for a fresh water bass rod in not an issue buy it!

Like others have said, this isn't a collaboration. Shimano/Gloomis have been one company for many years.

10% percent lighter sounds nice, but keep in mind that on a 4oz. rod, 10% is only about a 1/4oz.

You might consider a custom using the Rainshadow Eternity2 blank.

It's amazing!
