Xmas present

Recommended Posts

Got a fun present from my Father-in-Law from Christmas. It's a Benjamin Titan NP .177 pellet gun.

We've got a serious problem with grackles and crows robbing our garden and being general nuisances, this should help with that a little. Up to 1,200 fps, it packs some pop for an air gun. I was burning through some pellets to get to that 250 shots that are what they consider broke in when accuracy and consistency is supposed to be best. Had a target tacked to a tree in the front yard, looks like it got shot with a shotgun now. I put a 3x3 piece of sheet metal up by the cedar row in the backgroud and was hitting that even with a stiff crosswind.

My wife took a picture of me lining up a shot.

I gotta say, shooting pellet rifles and pistols is about one of my favorite things.

I've wanted a nice pellet gun for a long time just because of how much fun and affordable they are. It will be nice to be able to introduce my boys to shooting with something as kid friendly as a pellet gun too.

When they're a little older, these are fun, too....

I have that same revolver. My father worked at Crossman down in Bloomfield for 20+ years, and retired in 2016. He has Crossman stuff coming out his ears. He would often buy the factory "scratch and dent" models for a song with his discount, and give them out to anyone who seemingly ever met him LOL.

Funny story about that revolver.................but first a disclaimer.................kids don't try this at home.

I wanted to see what this thing was capable of, so I pointed it at my wife's backside as she was bent over feeding a calf at work......let me tell you.....when your then 25 year old hot, young wife says "I dare you" it's not actually a dare. Who knew ? But I have paid for it every minute, of every day, for the last 17 years. In my defense, she was wearing heavy carhart coveralls, and it didn't go through, but there was still a bruise, and me offering to kiss it seemed to make matters worse. The first few shots out of a fresh C02 cartridge are pretty stout.

I got 2 bbs in my leg from some of the bb gun wars me and my brother use to have. Funny when you go to get an MRI and they ask you if you have any metal in you and you have to explain your childhood to a nurse.

I love air guns and Benjamins are the best. This is my first Benjamin. My grandfather bought it for my dad in 1945 who handed it down to me in the early 80s. It's has never been rebuilt (at least in my lifetime) and will still take out a chipmunk at 30 yards no problem.

I can’t even see a chipmunk at 30 yards anymore!
