Dreaming of Fancy Feast or lunch meat handouts 

I don' have a pet.

 

In fact, I don't want any plants in the house, too.

 

Here is one i took today after they came in from playing outside in the cold and snow...the rottie doesn't like the cold but the other guy, the 13+ year old, does and i have to get him to come inside even when he is shivering out there.  What you can't see in the picture is that there is a gas fireplace going just outside of the picture lol

Statistics for "breeds most likely to bite" are all over the board, based on what I find to be sloppy comparisons.  Bites from small dogs are often not reported while other breeds (Pitbulls, Shepherds) are often mistakenly blamed for bites actually done by another breed (mistaken identity by the victim's who aren't real familiar with breeds).  In any case, Chihuahua's are typically the worst biters in most surveys, something I don't find surprising at all.

 

Large breeds will typically give a warning growl or bark before resorting to biting, little breeds seem to bite first and ask questions later.  In my 50 plus years of owning dogs, the only one that ever chased and/or bit someone was a small mixed breed terrier (nipped a paperboy on the heel as the young man was riding a bike delivering papers).  The most intimidating big dogs with the deepest barks have all been softies around people.

 

 

This is Brie, like the cheese (she originated from a breeder in Wisconsin).  She's an Old English Sheepdog. Grandma dresses her up for a picture every day we are on vacation, every time we leave.  Here are a few of my favorite's.

This is Bailey.  He was almost 15 when he reached that point of tipping the quality of life balance too far on the wrong side.  He was a shelter rescue, a White German shepherd/golden retriever mix, and the sweetest disposition of any dog I ever lived with.

 

 

He loved snow... could curl up in a snowbank just as happy as could be.  Here I was taking a break from shoveling (2 feet on the ground and still snowing) for some playtime:

 

We have 2 Bassets, very large bassets... 

Tripp: the younger and larger is 5-6

 

Cowboy: the older, whinier, slightly more active is 8-9

 

They like to be involved in activities like opening Christmas gifts:

 

Other than that they like to try to sneak human food (showing me how he's not at all interested in the reese's cup behind my coffee cup) 

Hard at work protecting the homestead???

 

 

This is Carly. 11 year old Bishon. 

This is Mojave, our White German Shepherd.  We rescued her 3 years ago.  She's not too fond of the boat, but she goes hiking behind the house with me every time I go.  

 

She also protects our house from dangerous intruders

 

But is more often than not found somewhere not far from our daughter
