I think biscuit could clear that fence with ease!

Nah, He is to big and not the most agile dog.  He is more brute strength and force lol  Now I do worry that he will break that gate though with him jumping on it.

Ha! I wish he would train my dogs to stay in the fence! Mine dig out of a 6 ft fence. Big one digs the hole and little one slithers through it. The pack has strength in numbers.....

Well I tried looking through the forums, as i swear I saw a thread about showing off your animals.  Needless to say I could not find it.  I wanted to post a picture of my boy, Silver.  He is a 135 lbs Cane Corso Mastiff, and he was not thrilled about this picture.IMG_0787.thumb.JPG.983dd58c35a22d8c7926e6cb5646d3ea.JPG

Feel encouraged to show off your pets.

Your dog is beautiful thank you for posting a picture of it. I also like big dogs and might get one later on. Thinking of getting a Turkish Kangal since it is a very loyal breed that is very powerful and makes a great guard dog.

Here is our rottie "puppy" biscuit....he was born on July 4th and turns four this year.

The beware of the dog sign was already in place when we moved into our house this past April and i saw him on the fence and thought it was kind of funny...

Here's our Miley.  He's a 3 year old, 40 pound shepherd mix.  We got him from a shelter just a month shy of 3 years ago.  He's a great dog, smart and just a bit opinionated (meaning that he sometimes does what he wants, regardless of what we want).  I don't know what I'd do without him any more.

In this photo, he has taken possession of the bed in our camping trailer.

We have another dog too who is at least 13, got him as a rescue.  Back in his hey day he would climb over our 5' chain link fence.  We even ran one of those electric dog fences around the top of the fence and he still went right through it.  Luckily he is too old now to jump the fence but it doesn't stop him from running the fence line and barking at everything.

This is Captain (short for Captain America) & his sidekick Dumbo.  Born on the 4th of July, Captain believes it is his job to protect any person or beast in his vicinity from any threat.  Unfortunately, he loves all persons & beasts, so nothing is ever really a threat.

Captain was a rescue, we initially thought he was just some kind of cream colored shepherd.  As he continued to grow & grow, we figured out he was an Anatolian Shepherd.  That breed originated in Turkey, a mix of Mastiffs and Kangals and were bred to guard sheep by hanging out around the perimeter of the flock and fighting off any bears or wolves that show up.  That DNA is definitely in him, his pastime is laying around and keeping a watchful eye on everyone else.  Despite his muscular physique, he is not athletic, just bull-in-a-china shop strong as he walks through things.  I would like to take him fishing, but he would most likely sink my boat...

Dumbo, also a rescue, is some kind of retriever mix.  One of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet, he is dumb as a brick.  We believe he is either gay or has an interior design background because he constantly takes potted plants, solar lights and other decor and sets them up in his doghouse.

Since a kid I've had goldens, shepherds, heelers, labs, chows, but by far the best was my rottie. So mild and obedient. I would not hesitate to get another.

I am dogless right now but here are my two last dogs. Madison,Golden Retreiver was 12 when she died and the part boxer Cholie was 5 when she died. Miss them both.

You have had many of my favorite dogs and agree that Rottweilers make great pets. I have had good experiences with them and I remember one particular Rottweiler that was very friendly to me while I was fishing behind a friends house. This dog was 120-130 pounds of pure muscle yet was very friendly with me, I think it can sense I am not a threat and knew I just wanted to fish. Cant say the same about some small breeds, they seem to not be fond of fishermen and runners in my area for some reason.

Statistics for "breeds most likely to bite" are all over the board, based on what I find to be sloppy comparisons.  Bites from small dogs are often not reported while other breeds (Pitbulls, Shepherds) are often mistakenly blamed for bites actually done by another breed (mistaken identity by the victim's who aren't real familiar with breeds).  In any case, Chihuahua's are typically the worst biters in most surveys, something I don't find surprising at all.

Large breeds will typically give a warning growl or bark before resorting to biting, little breeds seem to bite first and ask questions later.  In my 50 plus years of owning dogs, the only one that ever chased and/or bit someone was a small mixed breed terrier (nipped a paperboy on the heel as the young man was riding a bike delivering papers).  The most intimidating big dogs with the deepest barks have all been softies around people.

Good observation. I have had lots of chihuahuas bark at me when running around the neiborhood. Many of these chihuahuas do not have their leash on or their owners are nowhere to be seen. Maybe the owners spoil these small dogs and let them get away with anything and the big dogs are trained better to not bark and case runners? Would be nice if people trained little dogs more to not bark at every thing that moves, at least where I run.

Awwwwwwww. Staffordshire or pit?

He's a pit, he's a Razor's Edge dog. He's got the best disposition of any pit I've ever had, this pic is about a year ago. I have to download a few current ones, he's about 90 pounds now.
