Well me and my dad have been looking for a bigger/faster boat ever since we started fishing tournaments, we currently own a '94 Tracker Pro Team 175 with a Merc 40hp, and we hit the jackpot yesterday. Our soon-to-be new boat is a 2001 Xpress X18 dual console powered by a Merc 150 EFI with a stainless steel prop and a custom jackplate. The boat is white with light blue/gray carpet and is in beautiful condition. The guy selling it told us that after he bought it he the jack plate and the prop setup for speed, I'm not sure how fast it will go but I'm sure it'll go at least 60+mph. We don't have the boat yet as the price is $8000, so my dad left the guy a deposit and we will be able to pick it up next week after we get back from vacation.

This means that the Tracker will be going up for sale (hint hint)

You will like that Xpress.  It has the lift of a glass boat.  I am sure it will run around 60 but remember it is a light alum. boat and can get squirrely.

Xpress is a good one. Like was said, it's light, so watch the big wakes. Or jump them like I like to in my Lowe. ;D

Will do man, we'll have a set price in a couple days, we just gotta clean the boat up a little bit and get it nice and shiny.

It's will surprise you how well it handles  

My last boat was a 22' Stratos with a 225, but I downsized recently to a Fisher 170 Pro Hawk (17' 2", w/87" beam) and a 90 Optimax. After just 1 time on the water, with an upgrade to a high-performance Vengeance prop, I can tell you already that your boat seems like a sweet deal. With the 90, mine is very quick on acceleration, but a 90 will only go so fast. Here's the thing: it marks 45 mph at 4500 rpm, with plenty of trim to go, but if I lift the bow any higher, the front end gets way too "loose" for my comfort level. Even a good aluminum hull does not dig into the water [apparently] the way a good fiberglass design does. So be careful. I ran my Stratos and several Javelin models full-bore on many tournament blastoffs and never felt a bit out of control (unless there was heavy wave action), but I won't be running my aluminum rig beyond 85-90% of its potential speed. The fastest SAFE speed or controllable speed is the only speed that counts, no matter how badly you want to beat your competitors to that honey hole. -- JC

Yup, took it out yesterday when I got back from Idaho and she ran 63mph with just me, 1/2 tank, and all my gear. Pretty good fer a tin boat
