Florida Broward County Bass Advice

Featured Replies

Hi all ,

Im staying in Deerfield beach Florida  last week of March. I want to rent a boat 19/20/21 ft and bring my two boys , and wife fishing and boating. Any advice would be awesome! Want to catch peacock or large mouths.

You're more likely to find jacks and other saltwater fish in that area. I only started catching bass once I was above the spillways. South florida has some really excellent shore fishing if you're into it. Probably the most accessible anywhere. Hopefully someone can chime in on tips for boating.

I was thinking rent a boat and try to get over to Hillsboro Chanel? Any idea if that’s good ?

Had some fun on the hillsboro canal - bass, tarpon, etc.

Just walk the C-14 canal in Pompano/Ft. Lauderdale area, you’ll catch everything from Peacocks, Largemouth, Mayans, Tilapia and maybe even some snook and Tarpon. And ya DONT need live bait.

Lake Ida is a great place for peacock bass and all kinds of other exotic species, including largemouth bass. A fun lake for a fun day with family very close to where you're staying at. Don't really need a very large boat, either. Further north is lake Osbourne but it's not heavy with peacocks. Lake Ida is a part of a chain of lakes in the area and is well known for its peacock bass population.
