I'm always amazed by the latest & greatest takes that tackle companies come up with for the hollowbody frog, but this is something else. Fur on top of the bait to add some friction so the fish can't spit the bait? It's either genius or a total gimmick. Anyone tried one? Looks like they are "new". 

 

I'd like to try one for fun, but at $11 bucks?? Who do they think they are, Spro? haha

Interesting......seems logical, but I'd definitely like to hear more once some of you try it.

Unknown, they are literally marketing it as "Frogfur". 

I bought one, prob won't use it until late May at the earliest. Looks like a great frog and I have no doubt it will catch fish, but the whole fur thing is a little goofy. 

Velcro patent is long past it's enforcement date and it's the hook loop side, not the fuzzy  side that makes it work. Will bass teeth or crunchers act like the hook loops that makes Velcro hold.....interesting concept that anyone can add to a frog or any lure do to prior art and early disclosure prior to a patent awarded.

I saw that. IMO it's a total gimmick. I can only imagine how it will cause the frog to snag on to prickly/rough vegetation or bushes. If anything I could see it causing worse hookups if it gets caught on the bass's lips when they go to swallow it, instead of what you ideally want which is for the bass to get hooked back in the roof of their mouth. 

I've heard of "frog hair" (the fringe cut around a golf green), but never a hairy frog.  

Back in the 80s, Culprit Worms tryed the same thing. Worms had a slender piece of the fuzzy velcro,attached to them about an inch long. For the exact same reason as whats on this frog.

 

It just did not work. After repeated use,just being in the water collecting dirt,moss etc. Made it worthless,not too mention the fact the velcro will come off because of the frog being softer than the velcro material.

This has to be one of the weirder ideas I've seen.

I totally agree with that, If that frog flips over in the pads it's gonna be fun trying to rip it through which will mess up your cast. Why try to fix what's not broken? You can still catch bass on a frog with the right equipment and the right hook set.

Alright its May now anyone  who owns these got anything to say about em? Are they as soft as the booyah frogs? Does the fur/Velcro do anything

I also want to know if anyone has used one, seems like the live target sunfish all over again but not as much promotion!

I like the way they put the eye underneath the frog I hear a lot of fishermen in Japan actually customize there hard swim baits by adding an eye in the middle of the bait to give the bass a target to hone in on.

Velcro has been used by fly-fishers for "the next step in C&R: rise, hook, and... long distance release. Trout have sharp close-set teeth. Bass don't. They can engulf and spit pretty easily. "Frogs" are hot and let's face it, we buy lures as much as collectors items as everyday tools.

I have a few but haven't used them. I think the eye on the bottom will make a difference but we'll have to see about the "Frogfur".

Can you tell us how they feel soft wise compared to booyah or spro etc?

I have 2 Stanford frogs. The 1 is definitely softer than the other. 1 is about halfway between the Spro and the Pad Crasher while the other is closer to the Pad Crasher than the Spro.
