2 piece casting rod

Featured Replies

So I need a two piece casting rod that I plan on putting my Daiwa Fuego on. It has to be a two piece as I have a small car and child seats in the back. I’m currently looking at the st. Croix bass mojo line. Is there any others that I should be looking at?

How about a 3 piece? Daiwa Ardito TR. $129.99 on TW and comes with a carrying case. TackleTour gave it a good review

I haven't looked for a 2-piece rod, but I know Fenwick has several in different models.  I like my HMGs a lot.

But seriously....I've owned a number of 2-piece rods and with all but the lowest end ones, you'd never know the difference.  Fenwick and St.Croix both produce great 2-piece rods

I will second the fenwick hmg and st Croix mojo series. Great rods. I own the st Croix in one piece and the hmg in two piece. Both sensitive and strong. With a nod towards st Croix.

I found a used 2 piece shimano compre 6'10 Mh-xf casting rod that I wasn't sure about at first but it has proven itself to be pretty good as well.

I've decided I need a 2-piece casting rod to keep in my trunk.  Last night I did a quick search for HMG and Mojo rods.  I'd prefer 7' versus 6'6".  Couldn't find one.  Was also hoping to keep it around $100.  Can go the Ardito-TR if it is my only option.  Haven't checked ebay.  Figured I'd bring this thread back to the top rather than starting a new one.

Anyone know if Major Craft offers a 2-piece casting rod?

Absolutely love my Veritas2.0.          2 piece

Thanks.  I checked that rod at ffo last night, but didn't see an option.

Yeah, hit or miss with them but that's where I got mine.

I've got a couple of Fenwick methods travel rods one spinning and one casting. Price is/was higher then you wanted to spend. Pluses are each rod came with a extra top and bottom section. Spinning has a med. light action section and a medium, casting medium and a med. heavy section. Might be able to find them on Amazon or Ebay for cheaper. They have served me well on a couple of vacation trips. Also came with a decent semi hard case.

15 years ago I purchased a 6'6" MH 2 pc Tourney Trail from Cabelas to take to Florida and the rod is alive and well today.  I have never noticed the difference in it and a one piece.  The doggone thing is light as a feather.  As I recall it was $75 on sale.

If you can still find a Fenwick Methods I say grab it.  I have the 7’ spinning version and I love mine.  It comes with enough pieces to make 4 different action/power combinations and a nice hard carrying case.

they can be found for about $125.  In my opinion, the best travel rod out there.

I've got a medium Shimano Zodias 6'10" that's 2 piece and covers most of my bases. It's my travel rod and the rod I keep in my truck in case I find a pond that needs to be fished for a few minutes.

They sure do. Quite a few to pick from also. I’m selling a very nice 6’9 2pc jdm casting rod. Shoot me a pm if you want more info.

I second the St. Croix mojo bass. Probably the best rods made in two pieces, and not bad rods either,

Bass Pro and Cabela's have their own models in two piece - besides the brands mentioned above .
