Reviving an old thread?

Featured Replies

Sometimes I don't keep up on the forum but I use the search a lot and stumble across an older thread and have interest in posting a reply.

I know on many forums you can get flamed for reviving an old thread.

So what is it like on this forum? Should I make my comment ? Or if I missed the boat, then I need to forget about it?

Thanks!

Leter rip!

You might get a little razing but it's all in fun. This forum isn't like most. This place is all about having fun and talking about fishing and life, not about knocking people down and pushing agendas.

Flamers don't last long around here. We don't like that kind of behavior.

Some wit may say Holy Resurrection Batman, but that's about as bad as it will get.

Sometimes the best way to answer someone's question is to bring up past threads because some of the members who had great responses are no longer with us for various reasons.

That's my understanding why we have "stickies"!

Sometimes old topics need a freshening up a bit....all is good.  Annnnnd sometimes individuals "like myself" have some difficulty finding old stuff.   Annnnd just how many new topics do you think can come up.....site would be pretty slow.  This is a great site with good people....enjoy

Thanks guys! I knew I ended up in the right place. So far, I'm more than impressed with this forum, lots of good knowledge and respectful people. A rarity on the internet these days!

We have several long running threads, like years old.  What I have a problem with is digging up an old thread to ask a new question.  I'll often split that off into a new topic, since long time members that might have good input might pass up that thread because it's old.  But if the response relevant, or a follow up, have at it man!

The only rub I have is with myself.    Sometimes I read several pages only to find that I was 12 yrs old when the OP was made. (Slight exaggeration).......but that's on me
