Cabelas bargain cave

Went to the local Cabelas store this morning. Saw that the bargain cave sign was gone and the area was now empty. Asked a guy in the fishing department about this. He said BPS had decided not every Cabelas store would have a bargain cave. They will now be designated to certain stores to have them. Just more changes to wonder about. They also had a lot of empty areas in the fishing department where they were moving stuff around. I did buy a 6'6" medium fisheagle spinning rod while they are on sale. First Cabelas rod I have ever tried.

The bargain cave here in Kansas City is packed full of things nobody wants to buy.

there are changes every time I go into bass pro and cabelas.

I noticed Bass pro is now carrying Cabelas brand equipment, like smokers and grinders.

they are merging the cabelas and bass pro credit cards.

I have a Cabelas club visa card. It now builds points when I purchase at either store.

When I was with BPS, they had two or three "outlet stores" that had the vast majority of clearance product. When an item would go on clearance, we would tag it at the store for a while, then send it to an outlet store for final markdowns.

Sounds like Cabela's may be going to that concept.

The Maine location lost its bargain cave according to my buddy.  I will be making even less trips to the store now.

Bps is getting quite a bit of the Cabela’s bargain cave stuff in their outlet. I’ve recently taken advantage of this

Meh, I visit the bargain cave everytime I go to the local Cabelas and I've never found anything worthwile.

The Cabela's online bargain cave was a great place for deals where I'd check every couple of days, but since BPS took over it's been pretty bare and I no longer check.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It's been poop lately, although there are some sale items that aren't in the Bargain Cave such as the Arachnid 8.1:1 baitcaster for $119, which is a rebranded Daiwa Tatula Type-R. It's a comparable price to the deals you'll get the Type-R on Ebay, but since it's Cabela's rebranded, it has a life-time warranty.

Saw a broken rod with the tip taped to it in our local Cabela's Bargain Cave. They wanted to make sure you got the whole rod. What a bargain.

Yeah, my Cabela's bargain cave is just a bunch of junk. Maybe once in a while you'll find something worth while.

Also, my Cabela's is selling Bass Pro Shop shirts and bibs now.

Now my only wish is for my local Cabela's to carry BPS brand soft plastics , hard baits and line  for bass .

I have been extremely disappointed with Cabelas in the last year.  I used to spend thousands on hunting and fishing equipment yearly, especially in the online bargain cave.   They HAD ridiculous deals.  I have had to find other shopping avenues to replace Cabelas.  I was afraid this would happen with the buy out by Bass Pro. ?

I bought a citica for $90 nib, and a pfluger summit spinning reel for $30 nib. I knew the baitcaster was a good deal but wasn’t sure if I was getting a great deal on the spinning reel. I liked it so I bought it. Only two items I’ve purchased from the bargain cave.

Bargain Cave online has a lot of stuff again.
