Injured Shad Lure

Featured Replies

Ok, like most of you all by now probably, I'm seeing mega shad schools back in creeks. What is your best injured shad lure for off color water? And weedless, I need weedless as these schools are often up in around timber. I picked up a pack of Flukes that I plan on trying this week back there. Ive had luck on those in the past but for some reason they've worked their way down in the rotation. Any thing else working for you? Thanks

I like squarebills on stumps and standing timber . If it is laydowns or brush with a lot of limbs , spinnerbaits and buzzbaits  often get the call .

Although a Fluke style bait, a Yamamoto DShad is my go to.  Has a lot of properties different from most fluke style baits.

That's the same color as the flukes I got. It was the hook at Academy that had the least on it so I figured I'd try it out in my stained water. I'll give this one a look...thanks.

I’m in Georgia, but when the fish are in the mood to eat, the bubblegum color kills it. When they are finicky, color matters a lot more. I would try a top water rapala skitter walk or Zara spook. If they swipe at it and you don’t hook them, throw that fluke in there and you will be surprised how many will hit it.

Spinnerbait with a 4.8" Fat Impact for a trailer, bump it through the stumps.
