Bass Tracker Pro 175 Team Question

Recommended Posts

I am new to better boats so I am still learning.

I have two batteries in my boat.  I have fish finder, gps, bilge, live well, lights, trolling motor, ect.  Does my motor have a magneto that will charge my batteries on the run???  If I go fishing for a week and I am unable to plug my boat in I will surely kill my batteries...correct?

1998 Bass Tracker 175Pro Team with a 1998 Mercury Force 40HP 2 Stroke...?

Short answers ~

Yes your motor will charge your Cranking Battery; but it may not be sufficient in the long run, unless you run a long way - all the time.

And yes if you run your electronics, you'll most likely run your cranking battery down.

And if you run your trolling motor most of the time without the benefit of another recharging source, you'll most likely toast that power source as well.

Outboard Motors are not routinely rigged to recharge trolling motor batteries.

Your cranking battery starts your motor and powers everything except the trolling motor.

Trolling motors are routinely rigged separately to the other battery(ies).

Is there no way at all to get 110v near where you are going. Hotel, lodge, house or maybe a Wally World. Generator ?
