Casting rods used by the pros?

Am watching Major League Fishing this morning and wondering...not for the first time....if these guys ever use a casting rod below MH power and with 20# line.  Smaller fish go flying through the air on hooksets.

I select rod power and line size by the cover and technique I'm using. Not by the size of the fish I'm catching

Pros are usually fishing in tight quarters around heavy cover and the objective is to get the fish to the boat as quickly as possible and/or be able to apply enough pressure to drag it through or over cover or pin it down so one can go to it and get it without having to be concerned about not having enough lb test or stick, and every bite has the potential to be competitively decisive and be worth $$$, so yeah, they use heavier gear than someone recreationally fishing should. Of course there are exceptions at times.

The only time I’ve really seen them go Medium is when they drop shot but with spinning gear...  I did see one of the Daiwa pros using a Tatula Elite (Ehrler model) in a 7 foot Medium/Medium Heavy casting rod once but can’t remember the lure..

The all use ML finesse spinning rods, M crankbait casting rods, MH general use jig & worm and H pitching/flipping rods depending where they fishing.
