Hope someone can help!

I've tried to post a photo from my phone and it doesn't go through because the file size is too big. How do you get around this?

The file size must be less than 200k. Please reduce the file size and try again.

I can't post a picture. It says the size is too large.
You need to use a photo editing program like Adobe Photoshop, or whatever your computer comes with, and go to resize image. You may want to crop it for your avatar. Once you do that you can post any picture.

You can also use Pic Resize (https://www.picresize.com/)  You just need to locate the picture on your PC, and it's simple from there.

For mobile devices, get the app Image Shrink Lite for Android and iOS.

Try emailing it to yourself. You should get an option to reduce file size. 

 

Open photos, select photo to email, resize option should pop up.

 

once it shows up in your email, save it again to photos, use that version. I’m not sure if you get the option to rename it then. You don’t want to overwrite your original. 

 

These are iphone instructions, btw 

I always send the pic to the computer first.  It's easier for me to edit and post from the computer than to mess around with the phone.

I use 'Photo & Picture Resizer' app on my phone.  Free and very easy to use.
