Took my boy fishing for bluegills. Classic bobber and mealworms did the trick. 

 

Bonus: I always have a stick worm wacky rigged for the bass that cruise scaring away all the gills that my son is trying to catch. This one couldn’t resist the fall of the GP/Watermelon Maxscent General.

Yep!  I was an innocent little seven year old when a bluegill hit a poppin bug I was playing around with.  That fish has easily cost me over a $250K over the last 50 years.

Man your boy is a lot better than me. His fish is about twice the size of my bluegill. In fact this is my very first bluegill that I ever caught. I think I start to like more and more fishing for panfish on light setup.

I wish I could catch bluegills like that. They are great eating fish, but it's hard to get good sized ones around here.
