03 July 2019 ~ Summer Sun & Green Bass

Lynn & I were back out on the paddle only water we’ve been fishing recently.  On the days in & around the Holiday weekend, we prefer being on the small lakes in the Old Town Canoe verses some of the bigger water fished in the Lund.  Certainly quieter and far less busy.  The fishing is most always secondary on these trips.
Morning started out sunny, warm & flat calm.  Afternoon ended mostly the same with a few periods of wind throw in there for good measure.  Cooled us down a bit and helped move the resident insect population along.  We like that.
Worms & stick baits caught some small bass and I even managed to pick a few off on topwater.  When the wind came on I can’t resist throwing a spinnerbait which was met with immediate results – Pike.  All in all,  a fun day.
Enjoy your Holiday weekend and Stay Safe.
