I've just recently started using Megabass Dark Sleeper soft plastic swimbait recently. 3" 3/8oz pink color worked great for few trips and I realized suddenly, wasn't getting much bites. I checked the lure and found out that eye pieces were missing. Does anybody had experience like this? Please let me know whether missing eye pieces is the culprit.

you would think a bass that sees a fish with one eye would be easier prey than something with full vision.

Yes. Disappointed with the eyes. The hooks could also be stronger.

Sleeper has been slaying them for me the past 6 outings eyes fell off after about 8 fish the first outing. So no eyes doesnt seem to be an issue with its fish attracting abilities. The hooks arent the sharpest had to touch up a few points a bit myself on a few.

Eyes always come off on my sleepers - the cheap ones for $3 and real ones for $7. Doesn't make a difference to me it seems.

 

My best lure is an Spro Aruku Shad with 1 eye - I think I have caught over 200 fish on it.

Would a little coating of Sally Hansen "Hard As Nails" do the trick for keeping the eyes on? I know I use this clear coat on my hard baits to keep the eyes on and it works great.

I lose eyes occasionally on mine too, but never made a difference (that I know of anyway).  I find the lighter DS in 3/8 tend to “float up” a bit too much for me on retrieve.  I throw the 3/4 and 1 oz almost exclusively now. They are not too heavy and are very compact.  The 1 ouncer is a bit beefier.... but come to think of it, the hook might be a bit bigger too and I’ve never lost an eye on those... ??

Received the 2.4” and 3” (both in 3/8oz) today. I think these are not only going to work for these highly pressured urban LMB, but excellent brown trout, walleye, and crappie lures too. I’m really digging the detail and small lures are king where I fish. Awesome little baits!!

I just use a sharpie and color the eyes back in.

Agree with the hooks being a little dull. I lost a lot of fish before I started sharpening. You would think (as I did) with Megabass' usual quality, the hooks would be better.

Gorilla glue with the brush, just swipe over them and they never come off. If you're worried about the sent or taste use bait attractant.
