A Tennessee trip

Featured Replies

Hey all. Looking to take several days and fish Tenn. I’m from southwest Va. and will be taking my river boat. 1752 with a 60/40 jet, so looking to run some rivers and stay away from big open water. Any ideas with rivers and boat ramps would be appreciated. Not real sure how far west I’m going to go, maybe Nashville to visit a cousin.

The holston and French broad and nolichucky are all fun shallow rivers to fish . The nolichucky is free flowing so it can be dangerous at times. Most of the boat ramps below Douglas dam are pretty rough, but they are doable with 4x4. The holston has a good ramp under the highway 11 (Asheville highway) bridge. It also fishes well up your way towards Kingsport . Check tva.gov for generation schedules and usgs for free flowing rivers

Thanks guys.

I’d go straight to Kentucky Lake.  Launch out of Paris Landing, and you’ll have all kinds of opportunities. Been several years since I’ve been there, but I miss it greatly.  Don’t need a jet there, but be sure to have maps or a graph.
