Best Shakyhead jigs for zoom finesse worms?

Featured Replies

Got a couple packs today of the zoom finesse worms in green pumpkin/black for shakyhead fishing. Want to fish them shakyhead, what would be a good jig and jig head size for this application?

@Siebert Outdoors the Zenith Shakey head is the best I have thrown. I prefer a 3/16.

I’ve used the Buckeye lures spot remover in 3/16 for a good while now wand I’ve had zero issues. Used it on the Zoom Finesse worm and the Biospawn Plasmatail

I use the Owner Ultra shakyhead. it is common in most sporting good stores and reasonably priced. It also has the centering pin, which aligns the worm, making it simple to swap worms. If I could find a mold that mimmics this jig head, I would make my own.

For stand up style I like the spot remover pro model and everything else I like the owner ultra football heads. Weight will vary depending on depth and wind

While not a "shakyhead per se, I've found that a Brewer Slider head works good for presenting Zoom Finesse worms.

+1 ... This or the Strike King round ball version in GP color (1/8th oz. for less than 15' of water and 3/16th oz for 15' plus water depth ... I believe staying with 1/8th oz. or 3/32nd oz. gives you better action - lighter is better)  ... Also try to dye the tip of the tail (1/4") with JJ's or Spike It chartreuse color for a bit more attraction and scent (garlic) .

I've used Big Bite Baits, and Strike King round shakey heads with these worms quite a bit. Both have worked well.
