  2. Dobyns Colt is a great rod in that price range
  3. I don't risk ordering from Dick's anymore. I have received damaged rods from them as well. Now I only order rods from Tackle Warehouse and Sportsmans Outfitters. They have heavy duty tubes that I keep because they are so good. I usually try to buy rods in-store though.
  4. Doesn't necessarily have to be a "cranking" rod to be able to throw crankbaits on it.
  5. I would go with the St Croix Premier cranking rod, or take a look at the Dobyns Sierra series. They are in the same price range and are both great rods.
  6. Amen brother. College football is one of my favorite times of the year. I also know that hunting is right around the corner. Go dawgs!
  7. I personaly wouldn't use braid backing on anything. Cheap mono from Walmart as backing. If your tying braid to braid, use the double uni knot.
  8. How do you like those Yum Magnum Worms? Had my eye on them for a while but never used any. They look real good
  9. I bought a rifle from a Gander Outdoors in Alabama one time. Wasn't very busy at all. Had a pretty sad selection of fishing gear. Never seen one since then, I also thought they went out of business.
  10. In my neck of the woods I stick to 5 colors. Black/blue, okeechobee craw, bama bug, junebug, and green pumpkin. If I had to choose one color I would choose Okeechobee Craw.
  11. Never ice fished. Would like to one day, doesn't get too cold here
  12. Scheels has a sale on Shimano SLX Spinning Rods
  13. I mean they are selling a ton of their soft plastic baits, so I guess they decided to expand their products. I do think that sunglasses and pliers are a little far. I'd still bet that kids will buy all of these products though.
  14. Bullet weight, bead, swivel, leader, hook/bait. Works great for me
  15. Like many others on here, I used to watch a few of them before they had all the sponsors and baits and whatnot. Now I have completely stopped watching their videos as they now just come across as obnoxious IMO.
  16. This is me. When I am alone I focus more and fish much better. I like fishing with my buddies just for fun
  17. I use a knife. Also Rapala scissors are great
  18. I like Curado 70 for any heavy cover applications like frogs and flipping because I can palm the reel very well.
  19. In Georgia not California. Private pond
  20. 8 pound hybrid on live bluegill, was fishing for largemouth
  21. You could consider getting on of these: https://www.amazon.com/Luna-Sea-10005-Cush-Species/dp/B0084EF6YY
  22. It was August of last year. I was 15 and it was 100 degrees. I went to a relatively large pond that I had never fished before and I found a creek area that looked pretty juicy. I threw a black and blue chatterbait with a biospawn exoswim trailer. First cast got nailed within 2 feet of the bank. Set the hook really hard, fought her for a minute, and eventually lipped her and got her on the bank. I was freaking out, the biggest bass I had ever caught before that was a six pounder, and this shattered my old PB. I weighed her on my scale and she turned out to be 10 pounds and 4 ounces. I still can't believe to this day that a ten pounder was sitting in less than a few feet of water in summer, and that I caught it first cast in a completely new pond. To this day I have only caught 2 other fish out of that pond. Crazy experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. Hopefully I can break it one day
  23. Wow that is terrible. Very saddening to see how they are killing off wildlife like that. The FWC needs to stop this
