I hope it’s as well made as my Bantam and Chronarch MGL reels.

i have two Ks that are disappointing.

loose like any decent reel. Not close to MIJ MGL quality. They’re going on Ebay. 4-5 hours casting on both. 

It not gonna be well made as bantam, but should definitely cast lighter lure better. You should try 1/8 - 1/4oz lure with that reel given you have the right rod to do so. Let us know how it cast. Just to remind you don’t try to put any line bigger than 0.013” the spool capacity is only 70 you might not have enough line if you bomb cast.

Anywhere to buy one other than Ebay? I want to try one but not wanting to wait a month to get it as what is advertised shipping time on the bay.

This dealer is legit. They were highly recommended. Use PayPal but use a credit or debit card for payment. Delivery is EMS so 3-5 days.

Those are not authorized dealers. 
I won’t buy from them. 
Japan Reels is authorized. I’ve bought 3 reels from them. They ship overnight. They don’t sell the SLX MGL on eBay. Otherwise I would have bought from them again.

This reel will be used for jig pitching and moving baits. 
I have other reels for bombing.

My plan is 30# P-Line Braid for this reel. In fact if the quality is as good as expected I’ll buy a second one at 8 speed. This first one is 7. 
 

Heck for that price and waiting on a JDM I'd just get a Alderbaran 30 for light baits or a Bantam for everything else.

You don’t like the Curado K? I have loved mine. 

How can you not like the K. It’s a no bling straight out workhorse, and it fits easily in the palm of your hand.

Agreed, it isn't quite as smooth as the chronarch but it feels more solid, the chronarch is hollow by comparison.

I like the reel overall. I was disappointed in the play in the handle/drag assembly. It’s like my Lews reels. I have 2 of them I bought about 8 weeks ago. After buying the Bandit and Chronarch MGLs I’m spoiled.

I agree with you here. I noticed it the first time fishing mine while I was burning back a lure. I actually thought the handle nut might've been loose at first, but that wasn't it. The main gear drive shaft just has a bit more lateral play between it and the frame than I'm used to with my other reels. The clicking sound is more audible anyway. My Chronarch has a dash of play, but it's far less noticeable in use. I checked a few Ks at a few different stores and they were the same, so I got over it. There's a remedy though. If I get bored enough once the ice comes in I might fiddle with it. Otherwise the K is a dandy. I had my first multi-lunker night earlier this week with it in the mix, so I like it even more now!

Really, I don’t think I have any play in the handle. I’ll have to pay closer attention. 

I must be missing something.  I have three K's and about to buy a fourth after working the daylights out of them on the Potomac this summer. I have 100B's Curado I's, 70's  and 200E's and I am lovin the K's.  I strip, clean and lube my own reels, so I can tweek them as I see fit.
