Sufix 832 or P-Line TCB 8 for Hi-Vis?

Featured Replies

Hello! I’m spooling my spinning setup with 15 lb hi-vis braid. I will be using a leader. I am trying to decide between Sufix 832 Neon Lime, and P-Line TCB 8 Hi-Vis. I have used braid for a year or so now, but I’ve never used Hi-Vis. Which keeps color, and works best?

The TCB 8 keeps its color better over the Sufix IMO.

I prefer the P-line.

I prefer the P-line.

I see. I got worried, reviews on TW are saying it fades super quick and they might as well have left it white. So the P-Line TCB 8 holds it’s hi-vis color better than 832? If so, great! I’m going with P-Line in that case.

All braid fades regardless the claims. Some just faster than others.

What he said. Recolor with permanent marker.

I prefer 832 even though it fades slightly quicker.  I don't care.  If fading is an issue, I believe Gamma may last longer

I use both, and both work very well. Color of my braid is the last thing I worry about.

The hi-viz seems like it stays a little better than the darker green in the 832, IME.

Honestly, like you, I don't really care how long the color stays. It casts so well, especially for the price, that I don't see a lot of reason to switch up.

I am aware. I’m simply asking which retains it’s hi-vis properties the longest.

I see. Which one, in your opinion, casts, handles, and do you have confidence in the most? Keep in mind I’m throwing shaky heads, wacky rigs, lizards, etc...

Both.

Like others have said they all fade to white, but even after they do fade they are very visible.

I haven't used it in awhile but for hi vis braid I liked PowerPro Depth Hunter.  I know it's multiple colors but the contrast in the line made it easy to spot in low light/night conditions.  It also held its color pretty well.  When it started to fade, like others, I used a marker to color it but I would cut a slit in the marker tip to run the line through.

Never heard of that braid!
