Going to do some research....:)

My friend is taking me out after some whites again this morning and mama says "NOT all day"....fine...fine I say.  Anyway he gave me some of the new Nano fill from Berkley.  I had tried this a number of years ago and didn't particularly like it due to the fact it didn't like the knot I used.  Yes...am old fashioned and don't want to learn a new and improved knot....I like it simple....basically I only use three knots.  But he says my double uni works awesome on the new nano and he also says wind knots are a thing of the past and on and on and on.  So...he gave me a spool of twelve and it's off to the lake here in about an hour.

Excited.....

Yes...I have a spare rod with good old eight pound PP....

I like using around eight pound braid with an eight pound flur leader for lighter line fishing...will go to six leader when fishing is tough....but winter around here is usually not that tough....except for the fingers!!

Yup.  Always take at least one backup.  Enjoy your day, and get back with the results.

Well .... heads kind of foggy after spending a day on the water....can tell left side is swollen but doesn't hurt...spelling may suffer but you all understand.

Beautiful cold clear and sunny day....fish were deep but still around fifteen feet.  Chased whites but caught a couple nice crappie.  Was able to send buddy home with a couple limits of pound and a half to three pound fish.

Water temps were low fifty's with a good wind....water was also off color..chartreuse worked well until around noon and then had to go dark colors to get them to commit well.

I had mentioned I was going to try the newer Berkly 12 pound braided line...well fished it all day....no wind knots....did not break off on leader tie...but at end of day gave a tug and it broke!!  Note to self...check more often..even when having fun.   Cast's really well....believe it's a keeper....but good Lord willing I believe more research is needed.....Lots.

Was this Nanofil or Fireline Ultra 8? I don't think Nanofil has changed since it was introduced.

Give it a fair shot ON.  I spooled two spinning outfits with #12 last year and fished them all season on my two drop shot set ups.  I had zero issues.  I would not fish it on casting reels but for spinning, it performed very well. Glad to hear your on the mend !
