You realize Garmin's roots are in Aviation and Marine right? And those segments continue to be the highest revenue. "Dash units" were a much later development.

 

I use Lowrance.  The primary reason I do this is because I've had a Lowrance since 2001.  I'm used to their operating system.  I've upgraded several times over that span but the basic way they operate is the same.  Its like trying to learn a new language.  If I had the choice, I'd prefer to speak English, and I have no interest in learning Spanish.  Comprende?  If I was just getting into the fishing/boating/electronics world, I would consider something else because I'm sure the other brands are just as good, if not better.

Check this out for future sales on Lowrance Units, Garmin.  Bass Pro will have triple Crown prices as well.  This as is not yet posted, but available.  

If you are buying now, you will get gift cards and free installation if you need it.  I believe the Spring Fishing classic is coming after this one, but the spring classic will not have the triple reward giftcards.  

I have always been a garmin user and have had 2 Lowrance units.  Garmin is far easier to me, but I really think Fish Reveal is neat.  Second, I want a new trolling motor and instead of the force, I might be going to get the ultrex.  Might get a humming bird just to work with it.
