I have never bought a graph or owned one and I don’t want to spend much more than $500. What unit would you recommend?

    I’ve been really happy with my Garmin Echomap units. That being said, everyone is different so the best thing for you to do is go to a store that sells fishing electronics and try them out. Each brand is different. Hope this helps.

    I also like the Garmin unit. I saw one at Academy Sports for $499, think it was a 73cv which is a great unit. I don't think you could go wrong with Lorance or Humminbird either. All 3 makes good units with different features.
