Rust on brand new lure?

Featured Replies

How’s this even possible? This is the second bait I’ve ordered that has rust on it.

What lure is that - is it a brand name or a knock-off?

Next question - where'd you buy it from?

Eesh - I'd toss an e-mail with the pic to them and see what they have to say about it.

That is unusual that the hook on that lure is rusted. All the Booyah spinnerbaits I have purchased where in good condition.

I already did they said to send it back for a replacement but I have to pay return shipping.

It's a Booyah Covert spinnerbait, I'd bet money on it. I've got 3 of them now and every single one looked like that. I looked at several off the shelves at BPS and almost all appeared to have some degree of rust on the hooks.

Bad plating process creating corrosion. Ask for a credit this problem isn't going to be  resolved without a recall and chances of that happening are very low.

Clean off the rust with WD-40 and use the lure is another option.

Just checked the rest of my spinner baits and buzzbaits and they are all rusted brand new. Definitely a issue.
