Zoom Magnum Flukes

Featured Replies

I had never caught a fish on one until yesterday. I hadnt used them much before though., although Ive caught thousands of fish on the super fluke. My goal was/is bigger fish, since Ive been in a big fish ( over 6 pounds ) slump for almost a year now. I was pleasantly suprised at the action I got- less than with smaller baits but the fish were somewhat better quality. I T-rigged mine with a 5/0 hook and no weight. Watermelon red color.

How do y’all do with them?

Pretty much what you said ?

I don't know why be the Super Fluke out performs the Magnum.

I get the same results with Baby Brushhogs over Brushhogs.

I myself have been wanting to try some flukes out because I have never tried them before. I may pick up some of those super flukes.

The magnums arent as soft as the super flukes, and they are bigger , which I’m  sure is why . But I still caught a 1 pounder on one, and lost a smaller one.

Baby brush hogs out fish brush hogs every time- not even close.

Zoom super flukes are my #1 bait. I catch most of my fish on them by just throwing it out and letting it sink to the bottom ( if it makes it that far) .

The biggest difference is the super fluke is made to imitate a smaller size bait with some good life in it. The mag fluke is made to imitate a large almost dead shad which equals an easy large meal to fill a fishes belly with ease. A fluke is one bait I have mastered. I fish super flukes and magnums almost equally. Put your time in with them to learn them and you will put more and bigger fish in the boat on a more consistent basis than you have before

T - rig the magnum with a 7/0 EWG. I'll fish it when bigger baitfish are present or small lake/pond fishing to imitate Bluegill.

I've been eyeing those magnum flukes but haven't pulled the trigger. I just discovered the green albino color in flukes and they look like the perfect baitfish color (greenish back/pearl belly).

I personally like the Magnum Caffeine Shad over the Magnum Super Fluke based on my experience with these baits.

That said I'm always never to proud to learn from others, if I may ask Hower08 how are you rigging them in terms of line & hook selection ? Regarding the Mag Fluke are you dead sticking more than the regular size Super Fluke ? Curious about your approach if you don't mind sharing .

I will typically fish the mag fluke on a MH jig rod. You need a rod with some tip. Typically use a 5/0 EWG. I will work it similar to a super fluke. Fish it over mats and let it sink slowly into pockets and cross their eyes when they bite. If it's super thick I will use 50 pound braid if it's more open /clear water I will typically use a 20lb flouro or co polymer leader of even sometimes just fish it on straight 20 pound flouro if it's in a clean open water environment
