I got some PoP at the store and made a mold that has a 5" GYB Senko and a Berkley Pit Boss. I took a 5/8" drill bit and made a sprue (I think it is called a sprue but correct me if i'm wrong) to put the injector in when I get one.

 

 

I also made an open pour version of the Pit Boss.

1) Is it really called a sprue?

2) Is there anything else that I should to to my molds now and/or in the future

3) Can I just pour the melted plastic into the sprue instead of buying an injector?

4) Will I be able to put the melted plastic into the first mold and put the top on?

5) How much plastisol will it take to make one senko?

6) How much plastisol will it take to make one pit boss?

7) Where should I buy some plastisol?

? What are a few good colors of dye to buy?

9) What are some good colors/sizes of glitter to buy?

10) approximately how much would it cost to make a bag of 10 senkos or a bag of 10 Pit Bosses?

I would start by melting down a bunch of plastics you already have before buying any plastisol. You could turn a bunch of unwanted baits into those pit bosses pretty easily.

Would I be able to get both sides of the pit boss if I poured the plastisol in the first mold and put the top on?

I doubt it, the open pour seems like your best bet.

The sprue is what is left over, the area in which the sprue comes out of is called the gate. Your mold won't work because there is no way for the plastic to get to the bait cavity. If you are doing a single cavity like that just make the gate from the back of the bait to the top of the mold and hand pour it. Also, trying to make a gate for an injector when you don't have an injector probably isn't going to work out so well, the injector needs to fit in the gate properly.

I didn't make a way to inject the Pit Boss yet because I don't have an injector yet. I put that on the Senko so i could just pour it directly in without having to worry about appendages.

I use this as an alternative to a true soft plastic injector

My molds are made from Durhams water putty and I sealed them with 5 minute epoxy for that shiny look if wanted

As bargain budget as I try to be, it's a harder job when you dont have the right tools.

I have wasted a bunch of molds and a ton of plastic trying to learn with my makeshift DIY solutions

 

I have had some fisherman I know save all their used plastic baits for me

I got a lot of experience melting/remelting those baits
