Been a crazy season so far.

Real crazy start for me this season. Have not had any days with real nice numbers. Have only gotten a few dinks and runts which, I can live with that. But, have gotten a nice handful of healthy quality bass though. No breaking of a personal best. But feel doable this season. Soft plastics have not been working out to well as of yet. It will come around, it is my favorite way to bass fish. Been a lot of crankbait fishing. 8 to 20 feet of water. A few shallow water grass edge fish with buzzbaits. Natural color CB's, Rat-L-Traps in chrome, jerks in naturals. Gonna stick with it a bit longer. Worms and creatures have to kick in eventually.

Keep it up!!!

Thanks. My go to first patterns on cranks and jerks is not always a natural pattern. I’m always ready to throw a firetiger, chart / blk back, chart / green back or a chart w/ powder blue back. They have been pretty dead so far. We are suppose to get a bit of a slam with rain on Friday. This weekend water levels should be up and off color. Maybe this push some fish shallower and some of the old stand by patterns will kick in. Just hope it is not flooding rains. Good fishing.

Well the worm has definitely taken a turn this past weekend. Fished Friday and Saturday. Yes a topwater and CB bite was there but lacked enough to make me want to jump into soft plastics and slow things down. Though not bettering a personal best my two biggest bass of the season were caught. Both 18” females. Solid 3+ lb. fish on worm and a creature.

Temps and water temps have been high here out East. We have been getting good hard passing showers the last few nights. Hard rains but no flash floods. Looking forward to Saturday. Gonna go at it the same way.

Weathers been about the same as yours the past week . It's been hard to figure what the bass want , one day a stick bait the next , a buzz bait , no pattern 2 days in a row ...guess that's  what makes bass fishing a challenge . Glad things picked up for you .

I went out Sunday AM with a pretty big head and in my mind I had my morning all figured out. Only until I started fishing. Was pretty hot and terrible. Could not make much happen. Just did not want to go home skunked.

After contemplating how I was going to go about it, I figured I was just going to start over where I had started out and decided to pull out a couple of dark horses lures that very often will get you fish.

Tied on a chrome w/black back and a gold w/ black back Rat-L-Trap. Was throwing nothing else. 1 1/2 hours later did manage 2 fish fishing the frontside of grass. No prize of fish dinks and runts but bass, healthy fish.

Good luck to ya this weekend. Might get a break to some humidity. Friday some heavy rain moving in. We need it. Might trigger a better bite.

Went out this morning weather turned real hot quickly , tried old lures , buzzbaits , stickbaits , even got desperate enough to try flying lures for the first time , finally got a dink on the reliable ned rig . Wish hunting season was open might have better luck .lol
